If you are considering lasik vision surgery, you should know there is more than one type and each type is different.
Here are several different types of the Lasik you can have performed:
- LASIK-this is the most common and uses a blade that spins and cuts the flap as it moves over the eye.
- SuperLASIK-this procedure cuts the flap super thin and considered safer than normal LASIK
- IntraLASIK-uses a special laser to cut the flap and another to perform the surgery.
- PRK-this one removes cells called epithelium, to expose the tissue below that gets the laser. Then the epithelium will grow back on its own.
- LASEK & EpiLASIK-almost like the PRK except the epithelium is replaced to promote faster healing.
